Slack2Go 2009.1

Hallo,

Hi
I just trawled around a little bit and it looks like this linux distribution is a dream come true.
Is there a kind of overview of all that is in this distro?
I have an eeepc 700 4G and have pretty clearly worked out that the gOS 3.0 gadgets is ok for this box but after finally configuring it to work 99% last nights hardy patch updates broke my wifi. And madwifi is no longer compilable.
It would seem that your release meets my major requirements:
1. seems from what I can see to contain all of the apps I need (except maybe pidgin - not sure why u picked kopete but I guess u had some logic here)
2. you support out of the box eeepc HW?
Any update releases u make will not break my box???!!!
Is this true? Have I really finally stumbled across heaven-upon-earth??  :P
Cheers,
andE
PS: feel free to answer in german - just my written german is a bit dodgy...
PPS: my must-have apps: firefox 3, tbird 2, openoffice (at least V2), WiCd, skype, keepassX, amarok, vlc, sopcast, mplayer & firefox plugin, Planner (but not sooo fussed about this), picasa
PPPS: my nice2have apps: wbar, prism

Hi Andeee,

welcome to Slack2Go!

1. seems from what I can see to contain all of the apps I need (except maybe pidgin - not sure why u picked kopete but I guess u had some logic here)

... indeed I have my reason(s) not to choose pidgin - I simply don't like it ;)

Slack2Go is the successor of eeelive - Thus I will try to support every EeePC ot of the box.

If at any time any component of an EeePC doesn't work, give me a post and I will include the drivers.

As I will try to stay below the 700MB CD limit with 2009.1 again, I am sorry that I can't include the apps missing in
the standard release.

I will think about offering the missing apps as addon modules on the Slack2Go mirror.
